- Does life feel slow, with little interest or pleasure in doing things?
- Do you get irritable and experience chronic negative thoughts?
- Have you been feeling worthless, with little confidence in yourself?
- Do you feel hopeless about the future?
If you are chronically distressed and it's interfering with your ability to function in daily life, then it may be time to consider depression therapy to help you feel happy and achieve a fulfilling life.
You're Not Alone
Did you know that depression is the most common mental health challenge experienced around the world? The WHO report that over 280 million people currently struggle with depression globally, whilst in the UK, 1 adult in 6 exhibits depression symptoms. Ongoing stress relating to the coronavirus has made matters significantly worse. Moreover, studies suggest that the true number of people with depression is far higher than is currently reported, and that many people don’t get the help they need. This could be due to a number of factors such as: feeling embarrassed and ashamed about seeking help, lack of awareness of the severity of chronic depression, as well as poor experiences of mental health services.
Having a mental health challenge is absolutely nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about. Many people experience mental health difficulties at some point in their life. In fact, symptoms of depression can arise as a way for people to cope with unaddressed trauma.
Moreover, contrary to misconceptions, you cannot simply ‘snap out’ of a mental disorder. Just like physical disorders, it requires treatment and time to heal. Altering deeply ingrained core beliefs, emotions, distressing memories and behavioural habits requires the application of specific types of modalities designed to transform maladaptive cognitions, feelings and behaviours, in a safe and gentle way.
Therefore, choosing to get support in order to heal from depression is a constructive response to address a challenge, and a sign of great strength.
Your Mental Health Matters: Invest In Yourself And Your Future
Unresolved, depression can have profound consequences for health and wellbeing. Not only does it cause intense chronic distress and unhappiness, it is a leading cause of physical illness, disability and death from suicide. Depression knocks the enjoyment out of life. However, no matter the length or severity of depression, evidence shows that people who receive therapy, recover successfully.
With strong therapeutic support, you can free yourself from depression, learn new coping skills, and live a happy and purposeful life.
We will work together to identify your goals for therapy and devise a personalised treatment approach. I will offer you expert advice and guidance, and apply techniques to help you heal from depression so that you can enjoy living life again.

Where Does Depression Therapy Take Place?
Therapy sessions can take place online or in-person.
I am based in Birmingham, UK, with a home office in Yardley. I also carry out home visits if you cannot travel to the office due to disability.
Online therapy sessions are via Skype, or Zoom, and can take place wherever you are in the world, at a time that suits you. They are similar to face to face sessions, except they take place via video call.

What Is The Process Of Depression Therapy?
I offer an initial free consultation so we can discuss the difficulty you are experiencing, including any questions you may have about the service regarding costs, length of sessions, treatments, and for both of us to determine whether I am the right fit for treating your particular health difficulty.
If we decide to proceed with treatment, the next stage involves conducting a more detailed health and wellbeing assessment. This includes asking further questions about the specific difficulty you’re experiencing, how long you’ve experienced depression, how it affects you, treatment history, and identifying your therapy goals.
Following this assessment, I will devise a treatment plan that describes what we can cover in the session, and the techniques used to address the problem. If you are happy with the suggested treatment plan then we can commence treatment sessions.
Depending on the severity and nature of the problem, sessions usually take place weekly; each session lasts for 60 to 90 minutes.
Please be advised that I do not operate an emergency mental health service. If you are struggling with any mental disorder, it is essential to speak to your GP to explore all treatment options. Where possible, I will support your journey to mental wellness, providing a safe and nurturing environment for personal growth and healing.
What Is The Cost Of Depression Therapy
After your initial free consultation, you have flexibility in choosing how you’d like to proceed with your therapy sessions. You can opt for a pay-per-session arrangement or choose a session package.
Here are some options:
- Individual sessions are priced at £100 each.
- A 6-session package is available at a discounted rate of £540.
